MISS KITTY SUE'S THE 'V.I.P' ARTIST

 


Attorneys representing broadcaster Khadine 'Miss Kitty' Hylton have written to reggae-dancehall artiste One1Can threatening legal action over alleged defamatory remarks made by the entertainer in an article on a dancehall website.

In a pre-action letter sent to One1Can on Thursday, Miss Kitty, through Wilkinson Law, claims that allegations made by the entertainer of the pair once going on a date are “an outrageous lie”, and she's demanding a written apology from One1Can admitting that his allegations of a date were false and defamatory. 

"Our instructions are that the statements highlighted (the entire article) are untrue and highly defamatory of our client. The said article with its defamatory comments has already been communicated to many persons. Further, many individuals have shared and re-shared the article/post with the likelihood that it might be communicated, potentially, to millions of people via the world wide web. This poses a serious threat to our client's personal and professional reputation," the lawyers wrote.

The lawyers are also seeking damages for "the defamatory comments that have caused our client great distress and has affected her reputation adversely" and other untrue comments made. 

If the apology is not produced and published online using the same forum, then the Wilkinson law firm will file proceedings in the Supreme Court on Friday, April 23 at 4:30 pm, the letter stated.

One1Can, whose real name is Milton Wray, is generating a buzz with his latest single, ‘V.I.P Girl’. The video which was released a month ago has racked up over 110,000 views.

The song name drops a number of female artistes including Shenseea, Tanya Stephens, Macka Diamond, Amari, Ishawna, Spice, Lila Iké, Yanique Curvy Diva, Etana, Lady Saw and Koffee.

“The song is a true phenomenon, a lot of people have given me great feedback and it’s been added to the playlist of IRIE FM, Mello FM and other stations. It can only get bigger, people love the concept, the delivery and the humour,” he said.

On the song, One1Can declares he wants a V.I.P girl, and more specifically, a famous woman, as he “wants a celebrity wife inna mi life”.
